TO ROME BY TRAIN

THE LEONARDO EXSPRESS

The Leonardo Express is the name of the train that'll shuttle you from Rome's
main international airport, Fiumicino, to central Rome's Termini station.

There is a direct train connection every 30 minutes

The Leonardo Express is the name of the train that'll shuttle you from Rome's
main international airport, Fiumicino, to central Rome's Termini station.

A Leonardo Express train leaves every half hour in each direction.
One way tickets cost 11 Euros and can be bought at self service machines
at the airport & railway station. These machines have instructions
in various languages & take Euros or credit cards.
Remember to validate the ticket by getting it stamped in one of the many yellow machines
found on the platform.

The trains run non stop between Fiumicino Airport & Roma Termini railway station
providing some 24000 seats per day.
The train has large spaces for the luggage & the carriages are air conditioned.
Trains run from approx 6 am to 23 pm daily.
They leave the airport at 5 mins & 35 mins past the hour.
They leave platform 25 at Termini at 22 mins & 52 mins past the hour.
Journey time is just over 30 mins.

 

After you've claimed your bags, cleared customs,
and are in the main arrival hall for Terminals B and C,

Turn right follow the signs to Stazione FS/Railway Station.

On the left is the entrance to an underpass escalator is going down.
At the far end, there's an escalator going up to the station.
Buy a ticket "Per Termini"
at the FS ticket counter or from one of the machines in the station

Don't forget to validate your ticket by inserting
it in the validation machine before you enter the train.

Getting to Rome

Rome has two major airports: Fiumicino and CiampinoRome Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport
Rome's main airport is well-connected to the center during the day by a direct train and slower trains. The direct train between Fiumicino and Termini costs € 11,00 and takes approximately 50 minutes. It leaves from and arrives at track 26 at Termini (the main train station).

Rome Ciampino Airport
A smaller airport dealing mainly with charter flights and budget airlines. It is connected to Line A metro station Anagnina (about 35 mins by metro from Termini) by Cotral buses; ticket costs € 1. Buses leave every half hour.
